children’s creative dance & movement

Creative movement and dance places the creative potential of a child first and foremost.
Younger children experimentally move on impulse to improvise shapes and actions, creating independently and with partners.
Older children develop their creative voice, as they expand their movement vocabulary, develop their improvisation skills and choreographic craft, and experiment with independent and collaborative approaches to movement and dance creation.

“Amanda is a wonderful mentor. My mentorship with her has been a meaningful learning experience for me on how to integrate movement-based learning in a school setting. She helped me over the course of 8 weeks to create lesson plans based on themes the school I was working at had in place. She has a wealth of ideas, resources to share, creative wisdom, and is very articulate. She is kind, open, encouraging, and a very good listener. Her enthusiasm for Creative Movement is infectious and inspiring. My time with Amanda was pure joy and I look forward to learning and collaborating with her again one day!”
